Description: Priced at 13 pounds and 9 shillings, the second edition of Universal Publishers Directory contained special Olympic Games information with the official programme and locations of sporting venues. It contained 93 full coloured maps (compared to 479 in the 2008 edition).
This souvenir edition included areas that at the time were sidered outside city environs, but are now generally regarded as suburbs of Melbourne such as Chelsea, Frankston and Seaford.
It also features telephone booths, tram stops and railways, along with hospitals, town halls and police stations - still featured today! |
